ready to walk down the aisle?...

March 12, 2011
I will never forget that date. It was my first time to be in a wedding event – an expo. Being employed in Summit Media is an advantage; you get certain perks and privileges like a complimentary ticket for two!
Originally, I am not in an official business or I don’t have my boss’ blessing to attend the said activity. However, I was given a ticket by my friend from the trade marketing department.  So why not?
I woke up six in the morning so that I could arrive at the place earlier.  The venue is in the SMX Convention centre, anyway. The thing is that, I need to chauffer my friend to the said venue since she is not familiar of the how-to’s.  Lucky for me, I don’t have a car.  That makes the journey even more exciting, at least for that moment.
Upon arrival, we ate at the very famous and the very often visited fast-food chain – McDonalds.  The mall of Asia is indeed the biggest mall in Asia, and unfortunately, the SMX is in the other side!  So walk-walk-walk-walk-walk.  We went inside the expo and stayed in our booth for quite a little bit.  Then I left Mitch to go to offer subscriptions and basically market some potential clients of our magazines.  The other one in the booth is giving free Martha Stewart Weddings magazine to those who will sign up.
Then i received a text from Ruby, our officemate.  She was also in the venue at that very moment.  Si I decided to give her a call and meet her.  Since Mitch could not leave the booth, Ruby and I decided to circle the place.
There were wedding gowns of different styles and different prices.  Wow! Unique designs and unusual colours.  There were makeup services, event coordinators, hotel reservations, catering packages, limousine rentals, photo booth rentals, eye-catching souvenirs, wineries, mini bars – name it!  What’s so funny is that we were invited by every photo booth to try their services.  So we got so many free photos! We also had a chance to sample some sugary sweets!
During lunch time, I together with Ruby and Mitch dined at Kenny Rogers.  OMG!  The manager was such a maniac.  He was peeking on my friend every now and then.  Good thing there was a feedback form.  I wrote:  STOP PEEKING ON ME WHILE I AM EATING, ITS DISGUSTING, RUDE AND ANNOYING.  Then we decided to give my digits. I’m sure it’s a set up to get Mitch’s number. Anyway, we left the store and the manager even went outside after us, Indeed annoying!
Ruby and I went to the skating rink after going home.  Ruby dropped me at Vito Cruz because she is heading to somewhere.  When I arrived at Boni, I just dropped my bulky things, decided to take a bath again and headed to MOA again.  That’s around 5:30.  I arrived at MOA 8:04.  Thanks for the heavy traffic jam!
Then I witnessed the pyro musical competition.  The fireworks were awesome! I am reunited with Mitch and we ate at some fine dining.  We had problem on our way back. There were so many people and just a few cabs.  We practically, along with so many people, walk until the very edge of Leveriza St. We arrived home by almost midnight!

this week's gossip!

"If you love someone, set them free..."  So true. This week's final sentence of Gossip Girl.  Or is it a line from a song by Rick Price? I think so... I could totally relate.  I once fell in love with this girl who happened to be dating someone else.  So If I really love her, I should set her free! Well, in Gossip Girl, it is indeed literal.

It is nearly midnight and I just finished watching the 11th episode of Gossip Girl season 4...  I just did not expect the revelations in the episode.  Lily is such a terrible mother and Serena Van der Woodsen is an innocent little child. The people behind the show was successful in fooling audiences like me.

Blair and Dan seems to be the new catch! Good Bye Chuck and Blair, seems that the Upper East Side's queen bee might share the same interest with the Brooklyn's lonely boy.  I have been waiting actually for the tandem to materialize!

Sometimes the enemy is your real friend and the one you considers a friend might be the big E.  Gossip Girl teaches us to be careful in dealing with people.  I would totally recommend the series for people like me who wanted to have an escape in this tiring third world and to people who wants to learn how to distinguish a bitch from a good gal.

Every time I am seeing an episode of GG, it feels like I belong to the Upper East Side.

Beware...Gossips spread faster than virus.

of touching david archuleta's hand (inspired by touch my hand from the album of the same artist)

Wednesday, November 17th.

My friend's lucky number for some reasons...17...not really my lucky number or at least the number has no significance to me.  Not until David Archuleta (my ultimate idol in music) performed a mini concert at the SM North Edsa Skydome, yesterday, the 17th of the month.  Not just a concert, but a "once in a lifetime" album signing.

When I first heard the news, or the rumor, I did not believe it right away. I have to confirm it with my trusted site which is the archuletaphilippines.com.  Oh my Gosh, I totally freaked out.  How am I suppose to attend? I have an internship and I need not to be absent since I already incurred an absence last Monday to pave way for a long vacation since Tuesday is a non-working holiday. The second problem was that I have a limited budget and it is indeed embarrassing on my part to ask for another money ("another" since mom gave me my allowance already)  if it is not of importance.  Well, for me  it is indeed important.

Good news...
After messaging my boss via facebook, she did allow me to be absent today in one condition. I need to finish all the work the following day. Thanks God! The other good news is that the ticket price is only 400 pesos.  Not expensive compared to the recent concert which I attended, btw.

ONLY the first 400 lucky fans will have the chance to meet David Archuleta and get their albums signed. The said album is his sophomore album "The Other Side of Down."

I woke up 4 am and I opened my twitter.  David Archuleta tweeted his arrival in the Pearl of Orient!

It 's been only a year since he last visited the country for the unforgettable back to back concert with a fellow American Idol Contestant David Cook.

FOR I AM AN EARLY BIRD

The selling of tickets started around 11 am.  I am already in the queue by 7am.  Good thing I came there as early as I could! Being 71st of the 400 fans (lucky fans) is not bad at all.  I met couple of friends there and they all have the Archuflu, just like me.  They were all updated of the happenings.  I need to purchase another album for me to have the VIP ticket!

I dined at the food court with my new friends and the members of the Archuleta Philippines.  They are all so kind, accommodating and fun to be with.   I ate spaghetti, chicken sandwich and potato fries from KFC. I need to fuel up!

When we arrived at the dome area, OMG, the line is fully erected.  I mean, how could we have a better view of him performing if it was kind of too late already?

We were in the line for like 3 hours.  I almost collapsed and my head aches so badly.  My vision became blurry and it felt like I have a heat stroke or something.  A friend of mine gave me a paracetamol and a water.  The pain did not subside.

We were allowed to enter the Skydome by 4pm and the concert started by 6:30... Can you imagine how long we kept on standing?  But the pain, dizziness and the falling sensation disappeared when the angel showed up, performing the following songs:

1. Elevator
2. Crush
3. Something Bout Love

I even managed to take a good pics of him.  Good thing I was near the stage.  Even if we were in a sandwich-like situation.  Never Mind.

After the concert, we lined up.  No cameras allowed, btw.

He signed my album and I had the longest 15 seconds of my life.  I TOUCHED HIS HAND....  I shook his hands!  I had a short conversation with him:

Me: Hi David, I am Greg and I am a Huge fan of yours, I've been a fan of yours since the American Idol
David:  Thanks, That's cool! (with a smile)

That was the most fulfilling experience as his fan.  I need not to have a photo of him since there was no chance at all! And being a fan doesn't always need to have everything of him.

I just had the best day ever.  :)

That's his autograph...and here is a picture of me in the sea of people:
